Watershed Innovation Restores Local Reef

Watershed Innovation Restores Local Reef

BREVARD COUNTY, FL (August 10th, 2021) — The Watershed Innovation team volunteered to help restore water clarity in the Indian River Lagoon through oyster gardening.

Oysters have been negatively affected over time through environmental strain like harmful fishing methods, mass harvesting that isn’t sustainable, and waste. Because oysters play a key role in naturally filtering water, when their population declines so does water quality. That’s where oyster gardening comes in. This process is used to restore oysters that filter excess nutrients out of the water. These harmful nutrients often come from man-made sources like lawn fertilizer runoff and septic tanks. One oyster filters approximately 50 gallons of water per day.

Watershed Innovation, a Correct Craft company solely devoted to disruptive innovation, worked with Restore Our Shores and the Brevard Zoo on the program. The team gave homes to newborn oysters in a safe permitted location to return oysters to a healthy population. The project has already grown over 500,000 live oysters, and the long-term success of the program will be monitored closely by Restore Our Shores.

Sean Marrero, President of Watershed Innovation stated, “Our team is committed to creating a better tomorrow today not just in the technology we bring to market but also in the world around us. Without clean, living water, there is no boating…it’s that simple. I could not be prouder of our team for focusing on the things we can do to support clean water initiatives like oyster restoration.”

Families are encouraged to sign up now for this unique, limited-time opportunity to lead the charge and advance boating to its sustainable future.

“It’s hard to come to a special place like Lake Tahoe and not feel an awesome responsibility for maintaining its beauty for future generations,” added Marrero. “Not only does water cover 70% of the earth, it is 60% of our bodies. When we protect water, we protect ourselves. We want people to join us, and we think they’ll be happy to when they see what Ingenity is doing to make sustainability this much fun.”

Ingenity Makes Wired’s 2021 Ultimate Electric Ride List

ORLANDO, FL (January 27, 2021) – Ingenity’s electric Super Air Nautique GS22E has been named the only boat on WIRED Magazine’s 2021 list of the world’s ultimate electric rides.

WIRED, a technology-based magazine, recognized Ingenity among a list of sustainable transport machines built for land, sea, or air. It states that, in spite of the global pandemic, Deloitte recently increased in forecast for the EV (electric vehicle) market to 31.1 million units sold annually by 2030. This increasing demand indicates a broader trend for more electric forms of transportation such as the Super Air Nautique GS22E by Ingenity.

Sean Marrero, President of Ingenity states, “Wake surfing on 100% electric power is one of the highest and best forms of recreation on the planet…and it also happens to be better for the planet.  Nobody leaves an Ingenity demo without a smile on their face.”

The magazine states that the GS22E is the “Tesla of the wakeboarding world.” The GS22E powers watersports enthusiasts for hours of fun with its unique 124kWh battery.   Its robust electric propulsion system was designed for those who want to make the world a cleaner place without sacrificing fun on the water.

“The GS22E is an awesome piece of technology,” Marrero added. “Our team is both proud and grateful to be recognized by WIRED as we continue the important work of creating a better tomorrow today for our customers.”

Ingenity Increases Capacity to Build Electric Boats

Ingenity Increases Capacity to Build Electric Boats

ORLANDO, FL (January 18, 2021) – Ingenity Electric is increasing its capacity to build electric boats as part of parent company Correct Craft’s investment in 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space near its headquarters in Orlando. The new space will support growing demand for more sustainable boating solutions like the award-winning, 100% electric Nautique GS22E.

Ingenity President Sean Marrero stated, “The Nautique GS22E is incredible. It shows what’s possible with fully electric propulsion, but this is only the beginning.  Not only will the new building double our current production space, it also gives us flexibility to scale for what’s to come. Our team cannot wait to share all the many exciting projects that are ahead.”

The zero-emission GS22E, developed in partnership with sister company Nautique, was designed to meet the needs of the most demanding watersports customers. The award-winning and innovative Ingenity system has a unique battery that allows for three hours of typical watersports use.

Correct Craft invests in disruptive ideas like Ingenity through its subsidiary, Watershed Innovation. This approach has helped Correct Craft to be recognized as the most innovative company in the marine industry for the last two years in a row.

“Having a long-term view is important to Ingenity and is one of the things that clearly differentiates Correct Craft. Watershed plays an important role in how we execute on that,” added Marrero. “While we are grateful for all the recognition we have received, the main focus of everything we do is creating a better tomorrow today for customers.”

Ingenity will transition into its new production space in late spring.
